The Airborne Hog Society welcomes all authors to submit thoughtful and original issue papers or articles for publication. Submit your manuscript via email to editor@airbornehogsociety.com. Articles should be relevant to culture, society, politics, foreign relations, economics, historical analysis with a contemporary relevance, philosophy or national defense.
If you are an aspiring author, attempting to build a resume or seeking exposure, but cannot get your foot in the door because everyone wants experience, then this is your chance. Send us some writing samples, published or unpublished. If you have interesting points of view, can write clearly, think logically and convey your logical thoughts in writing, then you may be invited as a regular contributor. This is not restricted to just essays and articles.
How to submit your writing:
Only original articles are welcome. Do not submit articles that have also been submitted elsewhere. The paper may be sent as an email or as an attachment to an email, as a Microsoft Word document or PDF file. If sent as an email then HTML is strongly encouraged, for purposes of italics, boldface, underlined text and other features that do not come across well in emails without HTML.
Length:
There are no guidelines for the length of manuscripts. Keep in mind that longer manuscripts take longer to read, edit and post. Prohibitively long pieces will generally be returned with a polite explanation that time constraints preclude proper review. Pieces too short to develop a thought will be returned, but may be recommended for our "letters to the editor" feature.
Rules:
Before submitting articles for consideration in the issues and articles sections of the Airborne Hog Society website, please keep in mind that there are a few rules that must be adhered to, for the paper to be published.
Editing
Please proofread your work. Check for proper spelling, grammar, punctuation and please use direct
language. If you use acronyms then define them when they first appear in the paper. If you use technical
jargon then explain it in the body of the paper or in a footnote.
Footnotes
New ideas are preferred. We are not seeking manuscripts with lengthy footnotes. If footnotes are
necessary then add them - hyperlinks are always preferable. For footnotes, adhere to standards in
the MLA Writer's Guide.
A brief biography:
Please include a brief 3 to 4 line biography of yourself that describes any and all of the following: your full name or pen name, where you live, your current line of work, your education (degrees, where you went to school), and your experience pertaining to the subject matter, if applicable.
This will not likely be edited, so please write it in the 3rd person exactly as you want it to appear.
